About Us

Our Mission

Home Care Partners is a private non-profit agency serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our mission is to enable vulnerable people to remain in their own homes in comfort, safety, and dignity. We do this by:

  • Providing comprehensive home care services
  • Supporting family caregivers who take care of their loved ones
  • Improving home environments to facilitate aging-in-place

We are committed to excellence; we embrace diversity; and we serve those in need with priority given to those unable to pay the full cost of care.

Our goal is to support clients to remain in their own homes, provide respite to caregivers, and improve our clients’ ability to manage independently through the use of trained home care aides and professional social work and nurse case managers. We have a strong commitment to providing services for those who need them most, and cannot afford to pay.

Annual Report

Our History

Home Care Partners was founded in 1957. Today we serve approximately 1,000 clients annually in the DC metropolitan area. We are licensed and insured and accredited by the Joint Commission, (JCAHO), the standard setting organization in the health care field. We are the area’s largest non-profit home care aide agency and the only home care agency in the area that offers subsidized home care services for those who meet eligibility requirements. We do not provide services reimbursed by Medicaid or Medicare.

It all began in 1957, as Homemaker Service of the National Capital Area. Aides were called “Homemakers” and helped families with young children.
With passage of the Older Americans Act of 1965, our focus shifted to helping the elderly and adults with disabilities.
